The pear orchards in Moraga, California have become quite the subject for local plein air painters and I have painted them many times. This view of many pears (!) comes from one day when artist friend Anna Evans and I decided to put ourselves in the middle of the orchard and look up toward the sky. The first version was rather abstract and other versions have had more & less pears but this view is always fun to paint. I believe this is the version that now lives with artist friend Batia from a very fun artist trade.
